Privacy
Short, because this site does very little.
What this website collects
Nothing. There are no cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising, no embedded video, and no forms. The fonts are served from this site rather than from a font network, so loading a page here does not tell anyone else that you did.
The one exception is the ordinary one: our web host records standard server logs — the address your request came from, the page, the time. We do not read them for any purpose, we do not combine them with anything, and we do not have a way to connect them to a person.
What we keep about people we interview
This is the part that actually matters, and it has nothing to do with the website.
When we interview someone we keep a record of it: their name and how it is spelled, the contact details they gave us, their age, what they said, when and where they said it, and what they were told about how it would be used. We keep it so we can quote people accurately, check facts later, and correct ourselves when we get something wrong.
We do not sell it, share it, publish it, or use it for anything except reporting. We do not compile it into profiles of individuals — see our standards.
Getting your details out
Ask, and we take them out. Write to press@axelete.com and say so. There is no form and no process. We will confirm when it is done.
Two honest limits. If we have already published something, asking us to drop your contact details does not unpublish the article — that is a correction, which is a different thing and we do those too. And if you were quoted on the record, the quote stands; it is the contact information and our working notes we are talking about here.
Children
We do not write about minors and we do not knowingly keep information about them. If you believe we hold something about someone under 18, write to press@axelete.com and we will delete it.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we will say so on the corrections page rather than quietly editing it.
